MRI Imaging of the spine has traditionally utilized 2-Dimensional imaging acquisitions, such as T2 weighted, T1 weighted and STIR pulse sequences in 2 to 3 imaging planes. With a 3-Dimensional (3D) sequence, more information is obtained in less time. The sensitivity is increased due to the high spatial-resolution, no gap in between slices and smaller slice thickness, therefore, allowing for a more confident and accurate reading, as well as less time for the patient’s exam.
